I have always enjoyed Math. It was hard for me to see some of my children struggle with it. The frustration they were feeling was only multiplied when they had dozens of workbook pages to do. I tried to make it fun for them, but it was not always a good experience for us.
Over the last month our family has had the opportunity to use the Times Alive online lessons with animated songs and stories to learn times tables the fun way. This is my review for the Homeschool Review Crew.
If you have kids who have difficulties with multiplication, this program may just be the answer you have been looking for. I was skeptical at first, but after seeing our daughters progress, I am so excited to share about this program.
Our nine year old daughter Hope has been using the program, and she loves it. Before starting Times Alive, she was having a few issues with memorizing her times tables, but now she is thriving in this area and is impressing her daddy every evening with what she has learned. The fact that she has acquired so much knowledge in such a short period of time is amazing to me.
We were given a 3 month online subscription to this amazing program. The requirements for using this product is an internet connection and a computer that is 400 mhz or greater with 128 MB of Ram, speakers, a mouse/pointing device, and video of 1024x768 or higher. I like that it is a monthly subscription and you can use it until you are finished and then stop subscribing. Our daughter is learning so quickly that we see her finishing the program within the next few weeks.
The process of logging on to the program was simple. After signing in with your user name and password, you just pick a log in name for your child and off you go. After we got Hope signed in, it began to track her progress in the lessons and quizzes. It also kept track of the time it took her to complete each task.
Learning multiplication facts is not always fun and isn't easy for some students. This online program makes learning the times tables from 0 to 9 enjoyable. Our children do not even realize they are learning because of the fun games and stories.
I always like having a glimpse of a how a program works before I try it so here is a link to a You Tube video to give you a glance at this wonderful site: Times Alive 6x6 They also have a Facebook page Learn Multiplication where you can connect with others who enjoy the program and get updates and announcements about it.
I hope you have time to check out the site and choose for yourself. If you would like some other great reviews to read come check out the site for the Homeschool Review Crew.
